Besides my full-time summer job and all the obligatory events that define an Icelandic summer (in-law gatherings, pretending to enjoy oneself during summerhouse weekends, barbeques, rampant drinking, etc.) we are busy packing our stuff and selling furniture in preparation for our big move to Denmark. I´m so unbelievably fucking tired.
My head is spinning 100 mph these days. But the good news is that we'll be on holiday starting in two weeks! Well, truth be told it's half a working holiday -- we'll spend a week in Copenhagen searching desperately for apartments then another leisurely week in France, eating les baguettes and being tres chic...
So hopefully I get some time to post some updates about our adventures and misadventures in the "free world" (my expat-friends' nickname for the countries outside of Iceland).

ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for the youtube clip. I laughed my ass off. It was especially funny because I'm teaching myself French (i know.) with a funny podcast called "Learn French with Alexa" and it's all the same stuff. ha ha ha.
Maybe you can write "Danglish". Remember, you are rooted in beer and cheese and Denmark is a great place for these necessities. You may find it a lot like Wisconsin, but with a different accent. Best of luck!
